Battles on all sides

1 Kings 5:3-5

New International Version (NIV)

3 “You know that because of the wars waged against my father David from all sides, he could not build a temple for the Name of the Lord his God until the Lord put his enemies under his feet. 4 But now the Lord my God has given me rest on every side, and there is no adversary or disaster. 5 I intend, therefore, to build a temple for the Name of the Lord my God, as the Lord told my father David, when he said, ‘Your son whom I will put on the throne in your place will build the temple for my Name.’

Take note to this.  David – a man well known for his heart for God had wars waged against him from all sides.  He could not get his job done – in essence, he could not carry out his purpose.  He could not accomplish his goals, his dreams due to the enemies constantly attacking.   Yet, David did not lose heart.  He did not give up.  He stayed true to God (yes he sinned and fell but his heart did not waver).

God had a plan.  David’s dream was passed to his son to complete.  His son was given the peace required to fulfill the mission.  Was David a failure? No.

Have faith in God to work out His plans for you in His timing.
