What is one person’s freedom may be another one’s loss. What causes one to celebrate may cause another to mourn.
When we won our freedom from England. We celebrated. England mourned. We gained our freedom, England lost it’s investment. People died in battle and yet people celebrated victory.
Today we battle over abortion, civil rights, gun laws, etc. Anytime one side wins, another loses. There are not many battles won where everyone is a winner and everyone celebrates. At best we have compromise. At worst we have nations waging war and casualties and refugees fleeing for their lives. Some don’t make it. Many die. Many suffer.
Jesus suffered and died for our freedom. We celebrate. Some still mock Him 2,000 years later because they don’t understand or believe.
Celebrate your freedom. It came at a price. Remember both sides as you enter into battle – it is a battle. Some will rejoice. Some will die.
2 Corinthians 3:16-18 (NIV)
16 But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate[a] the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
