Healing

I am working on my novel titled ‘Healing’. The character is faced with the challenge of praying for an amputee to be healed and for his leg to be restored. Just writing the text challenges me. I find it difficult to even write the chapter – in fiction. Why? Do I not have the faith that God can restore a lost limb? I believe in resurrection of the dead. Why do I struggle to believe that a lost limb can grow back? Is it that it is too freakish to imagine?

Consider where you limit God. Can He heal? Can He restore? What part of your life do you lack in faith for God to restore? Lay it out before Him. Remember that little mustard seed.

Matthew 17:20  He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Bullies

“Mom, I can’t take it anymore. It’s relentless. They won’t stop bullying me! It’s not just classmates, it’s the professors too.”

“Change schools. There are other colleges out there.”

She did. She transferred to another college because of bullying. There was no point in trying to stop the bullying.

She’s not handicapped. She’s not a person of color. Not LGBTQ. She doesn’t have bad teeth. She’s not poor or rich. She doesn’t have a speech impediment.

She is white – you know the privileged class. Middle class. Educated parents – her mom once worked in the White House.

What caused her to be treated so horribly that she had to transfer to another college?

She’s a conservative Republican.  True story. You won’t see it covered by the media.
